Cuddingwarra

The Cuddingwarra mining centre has an aggregate historic production from open pit sources of approximately 800,000 oz. The current remnant total Identified Mineral Estimate (JORC) is 405,000 oz. Mining ceased in the area in 2003 when the gold price was around $600 per ounce.  Westgold is conducting open pit optimisations across the entire project to evaluate the production potential at today’s gold price. The open pit resources have the potential to provide early cash flow during the ramp up of production from the overall project.  Westgold is also focused on exploration for a new open pit style discovery. A comprehensive database, including a recent Sub Audio Magnetic (SAM) survey reveals many targets still to be fully evaluated.

The regional fertile Cuddingwarra Shear Zone extends for over 20km through the tenement package with most of the previous exploration being focused on historic workings and areas of outcrop. Modern exploration technique such as SAM now allow for more affective exploration in area of cover.  Westgold will maintain the exploration across the project while it drives the development activities towards production.
