The Fortnum Gold Operation [FGO] is Westgold's smallest yet most profitable mine. Fortnum is located in the north of Westgold's tenure and is approximately 150 km northwest of Meekatharra, with our tenure covering the historic mining centres of Labouchere, Fortnum, Horseshoe and Peak Hill [aggregated historic gold production > 2 million ounces].
The "hub" at FGO is a 0.9 million tonne-per-annum carbon-in-leach (CIL) plant and a 175-person village.
Approximately 600ktpa of ore is mined at Westgold's Starlight underground with the balance of annual mine stocks coming from lower grade stocks sitting free on surface.
A pipeline of new open pit and underground targets [Yarlarweelor, Nathans, Regent, Messiah and Labouchere] are being developed to extend the mine life from regional targets within close proximity to the plant.
Fortnum has been a solid low cost producer performer for Westgold with expected annual output of 60-75,000 oz per annum.
